Hello Everyone! The date for the Thunder Over Michigan Air Show & Battle Reenactment is August 10-11, 2013! The theme will be Vietnam and the theme aircraft is the A-1 Skyraider. This years show is looking as though it will be as spectacular as ever. You can check out the airshow website at the following link... www.yankeeairmuseum.org/airshow/You can also check out the show's facebook page at: www.facebook.com/ThunderOverMichigan?ref=ts&fref=tsFor those of you unfamiliar with the show, Thunder Over Michigan is an annual airshow put on by the Yankee Air Museum at Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti, Michigan. It incorporates a spectacular array of WWII-Present aircraft and also a series of large battle reenactments. The reenacting portion, in addition to the battles, includes an encampment for period displays, military vehicles, etc. The event is free of charge for reenactors and military vehicle owners/crew. There will be camping on site in the encampment area during the event. Lunch will be provided for registered participants on Saturday and Sunday. Set up begins Thursday, August 8. The event opens to the public on Saturday, August 10. We are currently looking for Vietnam reenacting groups to attend the show. Please feel free to pass along this information to anyone who may be interested in attending or participating in Thunder Over Michigan 2013. Kyle Scheel

Hi all, I am still looking for a good group of Vietnam, US Military reenactors to join. I have been reenacting WW2 over ten years now. I've completed a basic infantryman impression. My dad and uncle are both Vietnam combat veterans and I have secretly arranged for both of them to be at the airshow for this and they will not know the theme this year nor that I will be one of the reenactors. Both suffered quite badly from PTSD for many years. Neither of them will have seen this stuff since the war so it will be a big moment to them.
So I'm planning big for this in their honor and depending on the help of others to make their experience the best possible. Both of them are ok talking about their time in country these days and would probably be happy to talk to anyone regarding their service. Both were treated horribly when they came home, so I hope to give them a second homecoming with a postive effect.
Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thank you, Clint - cmeyer986@yahoo.com
