The following is the kit list for chopper aircrews, notice part of the kit list is from the AIRCAV "US Army".
So you fancy being a flyboy? if its hueys you wanna fly with the u.s army then heres what you will need to get in order to join me nick walsh the senior aviator in this group........
BASIC KIT: {does not include "living" kit see basic marines or aircav kit list-see below aircrew kit}
OG jungle fatigues mark 1 {early war}
a K-2B all in one flight suit in green {early war}
a set of 2 piece nomex known as FLYERS HOT WEATHER these came as a trouser and shirt set and were common in the latter part of the war.
black leather jungle boots
a shoulder holster or belt rig with a sidearm of your choice.
colt 4.5 automatic or a s&w revolver were preferred
suitable badges and army wings for your chosen unit
plain green baseball cap or boonie hat
plain green or white T-shirt.
ADVANCED KIT:
APH5 flight helmet or "brain bucket" early war issue in white or olive green.
or
AFH-1 flight helmet for mid to late war
or
SPH4 was introduced in late 1969 and replaced the AFH-1
nomex flight gloves
m69 or M1955 flak jacket
Aviation personnel survival marker panel
GOOD TO GO TOP LEVEL OF KIT:
a set of chicken plate armour
an AN/PRC-90 radio issued to aircrew for rescue purposes
aircrew issue emergency sheath knife.
US ARMY Minimum kit requirements:
1: OG Green Rip-Stop Tropical Jungle Jacket and Trousers {good repro is ok ask if in doubt}
2: OG Green T-Shirt US style
3: M1 Steel helmet with maple leaf cover and band
4: US army jungle boots, period Vibbram or current issue Panamara Sole 1980's type
5: complete set of M56 webbing: belt,suspenders,2 x ammo pouches,butt pack, 2 x 1 Q canteens & covers,1st aid pouch.
6: U.S army right angle torch
7: OG Green towel {sweat rag}
8: US army OG poncho
9: See item 13 and 14 in essential extras, either one of these items is required.
10: M16 Electric Soft Air Firing Rifle, repro/deact m60 m.g, m79 bloop gun. {if carrying the latter 2 then a Colt 45 soft air/8mm blank firer is requied}
US ARMY "1st Air Cav" ESSENTIAL EXTRAS:
1: U.S ARMY mess tins & metal canteen mug
2: PUP tent and M45 Sleeping Bag
3: M60 Bullet Belt 100rds 7.62
4: M16 Bandolier OG cotton
5: Bug Juice in clear bottle
6: M1942 or M67 machete and sheath
7: M18 smoke grenades
8: M26 or M67 Frag Grenades repros only
9: M56 Entrenching tool with canvas cover
10: M18 Claymore Mine Bag OG cotton
11: M7 or M8A1 bayonet for M16
12: Packboard, plywood OG green
13: Lightweight Ruck sack and frame
14: tropical rucksack and frame {can use US army Alice Med Rucksack OG green but with frame removed}
15: M72 LAWS 66mm Rocket launcher Tube
16: 2 Q water canteen and cover {can use US Army 80's issue 2Q but must be used condition}
17: M52 or M69 Flak Vest
18: M17 or XM28 Respirator and canvas Case
19: PRC-25 Transmitter or UH-1B Huey Helecoptor!!!
