Now here's a wacky one, an Air Borne Sing-A-Long. Roy and Dale Rogers entertain crew members of an Air Force C-123 Provider during the last leg of their Vietnam tour. Crew members are (left to right) Airman Second Class Cyril F. Crawly, 22, of Centerdale, RI, Staff Sergeant Francis K. Sutek, 35, of Fort Walton Beach, FL, and Technical Sergeant Eddie Miller, 36, of Rienzi, MS. (November 11, 1966) Before you ask, I don't think Roy's horse Trigger could make it, said something like, "I don't get on no plane, fool".

Here's another big star of the time. This is Carol Baker the actress throwing open her arms to the men of the aircraft carrier Ticonderoga (CVA-14) as the ship steams in the South China Sea. She was a member of the Bob Hope Troupe which brought entertainment (and a bit of glamour) to thousands of U.S. servicemen fighting the Vietnam War. (Photo taken Dec 1965)

Diane Shelton was a college coed who won a baton twirling championship. The soldiers were very interested in her "batons" if you know what I mean. The band is believed to be 'Les Brown and his band'.

Ann-Margret takes the stage at Phu Bai. Feb 1966 In addition to putting on shows at Phu Bai and Chu Lai, Ann-Margret visited wounded service members at both bases. unsubstantiated quote : "I heard from some fellow who was in the Navy during the Vietnam War and actress Ann Margaret did a show on his ship. At the end of the show she took off her clothes and was for a very brief moment as naked as the day she was born. Her only comment to the sailors was, "This is what you are fighting for."

LBJ pin's one on. . . . don't know if he classes as an entertainer, but he sure was a 'Big Name'. Title says "President Lyndon B. Johnson in Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam: Decorating a soldier. (October 26, 1966) " Typically no mention of the soldiers name!!

Actor Henry Fonda visiting the troops at Qui Nhon. In May of 1966 Mr. Fonda came to visit and just rub elbows with the troops. There were no special events or shows planned for him, he just walked around talking with the troops and tried to build up morale.
