Hi there.
I hope it is ok to advertise here.I have been a member for some time now (mainly a lurker.lol) as i have a great interest in the vietnam war era.But due to other interests/ hobbies have not had the time or finances to take part in the reenactment side of things!
One of my main hobbies was collecting and putting together custom 1/6th scale military figures. Comes from my addiction to action man/gi joe in the 60's.
Anyway i have started to sell off a lot of my figure to fund other interests (golf mainly can you believe. ). And i have for sale probably my favourite figure of all. A custom 5th SFG colonel that i custom built (my last nam figure). And just thought it would be nice if someone who is really interested in this era might like him as a display piece. And might appreciate him, as i am reluctant to put him up for auction on ebay!!
This figure is not a doll but in my mind a correct representation of a typical SF colonel from 5th SFG during the vietnam war.And took some considerable time to track down the items i needed to make him as realistic as possible. (including the patches which were custom printed and photo etched eagle on beret shield)
Anyway i enclose some pictures to browse over:
The figure stands approx 12" tall. And has many points of articulation,so can be posed in many different ways.
All the webbing is adjustable and made of real cloth just like the real thing. And there is a real leather holster (which cannot be seen in photos very clearly with 45 pistol. Also the kbar knife is in a real leather sheath.
Even the boots are real leather and cloth which lace up and have correct pattern soles!
The figure is loosely based on joh wayne's character 'Col Kirby' in the 'Green Berets'. But i could not find a nude figure with a potbelly!!!
Included is a highly detailed m16 and sling. Which again cannot be seen very clearly. But can post pictures if required.
As mentioned before. the nametags, patches etc were all custom printed and correct to scale.
Oh! and the beret is slightly darker than in pictures.
And i weathered my vietnam and ww2 figures by standing them in the sun to bleach the uniforms and webbing slightly to look a little more authentic!
It will break my heart to let him go.But if anyone is seriously interested please let me know im open to a reasonable offer!
Thanks for looking and please excuse my photography and garden furniture!!
Simon.
