Hey guys - what time frame would the guys in 1st Infantry start wearing black/OD divisional patches verses the big red one?
was it operational? when they went out in the boonies they would have jungle fatigues with subdued insignia? but garrison or summer Khakis would be the full color Division patch?
I was thinking it a s time frame thing..... 1965-67 color 67- end of war was issued subdued patches...... comments? corrections? any info? thanks- Steve

Hiya Steve, Hiya mate, re 1st inf( the big red one), they along with the 82nd and 101st, had full colour, right to the end of the war, you did have the odd subdued patch around, but not very many, hope that helps, cheers, Chris. ;D

For what it's worth, I have seen guys in the BRO wearing the full colour patch on BDUs when operational with the BRO. I'll check with my dad, who was a black scarf with 1/2 Inf, BRO in '67. And be back with you most riki-tik
