Hello All,
New to the Vietnam Reenacting, only just started collecting my kit along with five of my friends, still deciding what to buy here in the UK any advice you can give will be greatly received.
We're think about doing Air Cavalry. Just ordered helmet, 3rd pattern jungle OG trousers and shirt, jungle boots and helmet from SOF.

Hello Tonka, First off, welcome to the forum and enjoy it. Second, Buying kit........ SOF are ok for some of it but you might want to check out E-bay (uk site) & the USA E-bay site..Last time i looked on the us site it had over 12,000 original items listed...  Third, You and your friends might want to consider joining the 173rd Airborne unit that has just started up with a few lads from this forum. At present they are down at the War & Peace show n Kent. The membership guy goes by the name of Chrisd1965 on this forum he is the man to chat to about kit for a line GI. Have a think about it, and hopefully you'll join us to increase the ranks Hope this helps Paul |

welcome to this forum, as paul has kindly said, if you need any advice please feel free to ask, i've been collecting/reenacting sinice 1985, and as paul has said we're both in the 173rd abn bde and N co rangers, we've only started 6 months ago, but we have 9 members already, we're always looking for new members, we were at this years W/P show, had an awesome time, if you and your friends might be interested or might want anymore info, let me know, i would only be to happy to help, cheers for now.

I'm new also, have a helmet which has been dated to be '67, olive drab jacket and trousers, just ordered an original Mitchell cover, (something I couldn't find at the war and peace show unfortunately). just looking for a helmet band without cats eyes, a flak jacket and some webbing, packs etc. Anyone know where to get these items??

US ebay for 90% of that
SOF..... only if totally lost
SOF do sell a very good copy of the US flak
Webbing, plenty on ebay uk or US sites
SOF....... if you have too...BUT...... try to visit the shop or there stand at shows so you can sort out the gen stuff from the repro
