hello guys my name is kevlar kev , i live in mid wales and with a few other like minded guys we are starting a viet cong reenactment / living history group. the group will be based on the 274th regiment of the 5th division , along side this we will be setting up a seal team 2 squad . the weapons of choice will of course be airsoft , we are in the process of gaining a 200 acre battle site which has been used in the past for many vietnam reenactment weekends . if any of you are interested then please make contact with me kevlar kev ...........01597 824810...........or dave the (doc) martin . we will be coming along to the gunman weekend in october .

I have copied the above post from the vietnam airsoft forum/ site, posted by Kevlar kev, I shall be joining this group and supporting them to build the site in wales back up to where it used to be I have battled on this site many times in the past, and have known kev since 2000.

POSTED BY KEVLAR KEV: hello yes the site was used a few years ago when i ran the 1/7th air cav living history group , it is sited in mid wales . when we used it we built bunkers , a fire base , tunnel systems plus a lot more. on the site there is a stream that run through the site and it is covered in hills and pine forests . also on the site is a barn which we made into a PX and got a big wooden bar from a local hotel and then placed it into the barn . it hasnt been used for a while but we went to see the land owner yesterday and got the go ahead to start develop the site again so we will be starting work details within the next few weeks. it truley is a site that is fit for the NAM as it has everything you want , it is that big that you could walk / sneak for a good couple of hours and not get ambushed. this site will be the main site of the VIETNAM COLLECTORS REENACTMENT ASSOCIATION of which the 274th regiment 5th div viet cong is part of . as well as the viet cong regiment we will be starting a squad for SEAL TEAM 2 and also a US ARMY PLATOON , which one hasnt been decided yet it depends on what NAM reenactors / AIRSOFTERS want (any ideas ) not AIR CAV as there are a lot of AIR CAV units out there now and this would proberly be covered by visiting groups
the walk on fee for the whole weekend will be around £25.00 .
in the past a typical weekend consisted of the following groups
1/7 AIR CAV ....BRAVO COMPANY
2/7 AIR CAV ....CHARLIE COMPANY
AIR CAV LRRP,S
155TH NVA REGIMENT
SEAL TEAM 1
5TH SPECIAL FORCES
3RD MARINE RECON
LOCAL VIET CONG IRREGULARS
548TH TRANSPORT COMPANY ...............WITH 1/2 REO TRUCKS AND ALWAYS A COUPLE OF M151 MUTTS
US MARINES
THE SITE IS RIGHT IN THE FLIGHT PATH OF THE RAF and they hug the ground as they come over so sometimes you can use the the sound of the fast movers within your reenactment plus theres always choppers flying over ( choppers are good )
we will spend the rest of this year rebuilding the site , things like sand bag details cleaning out overgrown reeds from the bunkers , rebuilding the PX and tunnels also we are hoping to rebuild the vietnamese vill so if anyone live in or near wales or anywhere come to that and wants to help then let me know.
