Hi everybody,
For my high-school-aquivalent diploma, I am seeking to find personal opinions and experiences on how the Vietnam war influenced the American society. I don't think I have to tell anybody here that this war remains one of a kind. In case you can answer any of the following questions or if you would like to take a general statement, I would be very happy if you do so.
1. Do you think the Vietnam war was a defeat for the United States of America?
2. How did you feel back home after serving in Vietnam? Were you considered a hero or were you not welcome? Did the American government under Johnson/Nixon make sure that veterans will be taken care of by helping them to settle again?
3. As a family member of somebody who served in Vietnam, what was your impression of your serving relative before he was sent to Vietnam, during his stay and after his return?
4. It didn't take very long until the American intervention started to result in an anti-Vietnam war movement. In case you were part of these protests, do you think they had any impact?
5. What is your overall opinion on the influence of the Vietnam war on the American society? How did everybody deal with the brutality? What was the atmosphere after the withdrawal of the troops from Vietnam in the United States like?
Thank you for supporting me! Any participant of this survey will remain anonymous.
Sincerely yours,
Jonas
