Hello! You are invited to attend the 1st annual "Return to the A Shau" Vietnam public event located at Camp Big Timber in Elgin, Illinois. The camp is located mere minutes from interstate 90 and is easily accessible. This event is open to all Vietnam-period impressions. The event will offer both living history static displays, as well as public battles. A more detailed itinerary will be forthcoming. Also, be sure to visit the 2/327's facebook page for updates and info as it becomes available. We are hoping that this event will become a staple stand-alone event for the Vietnam era. While there are several events in the Midwest that offer Vietnam displays and battles in conjunction with WWII, there are few Vietnam-only events in this area. Come out and show your support to help the hobby grow. If you have any questions, contact Rick at worldwar2rick@yahoo.com. We look forward to seeing you in the bush! When: Friday, July 22, 2016 at 7:00 PM - Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 10:00 PM (CDT) Where: Camp Big Timber: Boy Scouts of America, Three Fires Council - 37W955 Big Timber Road Elgin, IL 60124 Event registration: www.eventbrite.com/e/return-to-the-a-shau-elgin-vietnam-public-re-enactment-tickets-22247780711

There will be a film crew from Channel 5 Quebec, as they are putting together a documentary miniseries about re-enacting around the world. They will be going to the UK, Russia, France, and the US to film. It will be broadcast in both Canada and France. Come on out and get your ugly mugs on tv smile emoticon Also, all re-enactors will be provided dinner Saturday night, compliments of the 2/327th for coming out. And tables for vendors will be available at the event. The vending area will be in a large building very close to the campsites. Hello, I'm not sure if I can make it yet as I'm starting a new job next week and don't know if I will be off that weekend, but Elgin isn't a bad drive from St. Louis. Obviously it wouldn't cool for the battles, but just for walking the encampment is it okay to come as French from the 1952-54 era?
