I am a VN vet and I have been building my web gear and uniform for reenactor display with my M37 Weapons Carrier. I have found an original Vietnam ball cap in the right size but it was stored crumpled up and the plastic mesh in the front has a permanent crease in it. Is there a method to flatten the mesh back to original shape without ruining the cap?
