This post is to let other members and future members of the DELTA TO THE DMZ know what we do as a re-enactment group at weekends, so if others are interested in Marine Force Reconnaissance re-enactment the info is here. After the morning briefing with other units, we normally go through IA/Contact drills before the start of patrolling, even with new members this will be done, it gives us a response to any contact that may happen. We are not a direct action unit, our aim is to avoid any contact with hostile forces, our job is to patrol to different OP sites watch paths and trails, look for staging areas, if any hostiles are seen, we radio any other friendly units and give them the task of engaging them, also if we come under fire and can not break contact, we call in the good guys, so that is it mainly, the first sight of Charlie and we call it in. Patrolling is done slowly very slowly, using hand signals to communicate, each member scanning his arch of fire within the team as we patrol, always looking, always listening. Depending on the ground we would patrol for 30 mins to 45 mins then set up an OP site, stay for an hour then if nothing is seen, move on to another OP site. Bunkers, ammo dumps etc, once found will be passed over to other US units to deal with.

Hi fellas, I will be displaying at the W&P Show 2017, if anyone with an interest in Marine Force Recon, or Marines in general, you are more than welcome to display your collection, large or small, it is a way for me to get back into Re-enactment and start running a Force Recon unit again with the view have meet ups and patrolling the boonies, if you have gear you want to wear out in the field for a day or weekend this would be a good chance to do it, relaxed informal, then take it from there, shoot me a line to get the ball rolling, I sure miss camming up and getting them ERDLs on, Semper Fi.
